Christmas 97 - New Stuff
Here are the latest pictures. They are actually from Christmas. The posting delay was due to the change over from Front Page 97 to Front Page 98. There is always something!
Anyway, we were invited to Grandma and Grandpa Dover's cabin the White Mountains of Arizona. After a couple of plane rides, a four hour drive through the snow, a spin out (not the car we were in - the one with Great Grandpa Dover and Aunt Andrea - no damage and no one hurt) we arrived at snowy Pinetop.
Katy had her first taste (literally) of snow and snowmobiling - and a wonderful time was had by all. So, with that preamble, here are the pictures. (Click on the little ones to get a big one.)
Let's start with a couple of snow bunnies:
And to that we can add Grandpa Dover.
Great Grandpa Dover
was there too - and Katie really took to him:
A couple of days before Christmas we went out to dinner at the
Christmas Tree Restaurant. This is one of Jami's and my favorite places - we had a
ritual when we lived in Tempe: drive up, play in the snow, have dinner at this
restaurant and get back home for a soak in the spa - AND never have to look at snow again
for the rest of the year. Eat your heart out Minnesota relatives. Anita bought
Katie a souvenir ornament at the restaurant.
Then comes Christmas day. Katie made the rounds of the
relatives, of course. Here she is with Anita:
The she taught Grandpa Jim how to put his new puzzle together:
She enjoyed her first candy cane:
(although from the look on her face it is not obvious). A little
later she scampered up stairs to check to make sure all the rooms were neat and clean:
And finally
we sat down for a great Christmas dinner.
